INFINITY DREAM

Standard

Today

I heard a mother weep

For the child she’s about to lose

And the future that will never be
Today

I hear a girl scheme

About how she plans to live

Cos life’s not really been quite good
Today

I watched a father cry

While sharing bitter tales

Of how much his neglect has cost him
Today

I watch a boy wish

Upon the grave of his lover

That he had treated every woman right
Today

I learned

That some things

Don’t quite add up

To what we ever wanted
Maybe tomorrow would be better

Our infinity dream

Moth

Standard

Like the moth to flame

So am I to you

The fire that threatens to burn

And consume me feverishly
You work your way

into my heart

Gently replanting trust

Trying to prove everyone wrong
When my fears lash at you

You bear them and tell me that you understand

Truth or lie – I don’t know

But I choose to trust you
So, if my heart ever becomes mangled

And you are found to be the cause

You will get a blessing

That looks more like a curse

I Am…

Standard

I am

The girl whose heart

Has been shattered many times

Yet continues to love
I am

The daughter whose hero

Is an unfeeling being

Yet continues to adore him
I am

the mother whose children

Never forgot home

Because she gave them her all
I am

The she who never had

But in the end

Owned more than enough
