Forbidden Tale

Standard

Once inseparable

Now ghosts that haunt each other

For the world frowned at us

We swore never to ponder on it

But we both know that it weighs heavily on both minds
I wish we never stood together

For of what use is our pretense

When it drives more wedge between us

Alone, we’ll nurse our wounds

And tell the tales to our kids of what could have been
Ours was not a tale of only chemistry

But of a synchronised heartbeat

Where one knows the thoughts of the other even before she says it

And she, even if she doesn’t know what’s on his mind

Knows that it’s all for good

T’is a sad tale indeed

Silence brought an end to the matter

She’s drawn to what is considered a taboo

And he won’t mind being labelled an outcast for it too
Let them be

Their story is a cycle

It never ends

Pieces of them abound in societies

Lost Love

Standard

Something about the chemistry

Reminds me of the hurt I hide away

I can’t have you

Yet I can’t leave you
Like a fugitive

I’m forced to roam

An outcast for your love

Only having memories to warm my heart
I’ll hold on to the thoughts of you

Even as I look for a piece of you

For you have made me know

What the forbidden tastes like

Letters from my unborn child

Standard

Dear Daddy,

This is the first part of my series of letters to you. It’s me, your unborn child. How are you? I hope you are keeping the hustle real and pure. Don’t be surprised if you hear me use slang words. I’ve been here long enough to know quite a lot. I live inside mommy and she’s got the best body a baby will want to live in.
Daddy, I know that you are still trying to locate mommy. You will find her prepped up for you. She’s been undergoing her training. She says the trainings can be draining but she learns quite a lot from it. My favourite part of her training is how to handle me and my my siblings. She’ll be a great mother. She loves children. I have heard her relate with some kids and even their parents. Your wife issabae.
Dad, I want you to know that I love you even though I haven’t met you. I know you will love me too. Not more than mommy or equally like mommy because when I leave to start my life, I know that that woman will not leave you. She’ll stand by you.
Dear daddy, there are a lot of things I want to say but for now, we’ll close the chapter. I’m busy here chilling with the others. I’ll send you another letter soon. Always remember that I love you so much, my hero.
                  Yours lovingly

                   Your future treasure
